Sportsmed Podiatry - New Zealand’s leading podiatry clinicSportsmed podiatry is dedicated to providing you the highest level of foot care. We have an unsurpassed reputation and are considered one of New Zealand’s leading podiatry practices. See why our patients choose us over other podiatry clinics. With 3 highly qualified podiatrists we are one of the NZ’s busiest receiving many referrals from podiatrists, doctors, surgeons, physiotherapists, coaches, and other specialists. You do not however need a referral when making an appointment with us. We treat a wide range of both foot and foot related conditions. Athletic injuries such as achilles tendonitis, shin splints, runners knee pain or other overuse injuries are treated routinely. Other common complaints such as heel pain, ingrown nails, arch discomfort, verrucae, are also seen regularly highlighting that you don’t need to be a top athlete to see us. Our expertise in assessing and treating musculoskeletal or biomechanical injuries is of the highest standard. We see many athletes ranging from young children, weekend warriors, through to top NZ athletes. Sportsmed podiatry is the clinic of choice for Canterbury Crusaders Rugby, the Black Caps, Tactix, Canterbury Cougars, NZ Football Academy and also our Winter Olympic athletes. We have also performed extensive research in both skiing and snowboarding. Our sophisticated biomechanical assessment equipment is second to none and can highlight abnormalities not seen with other assessments or treatment. Using pressure plates, treadmill, high speed video, an “in-shoe” pressure measuring system and a 3D motion analysis system there is little we cannot measure. There are no other podiatry clinics in New Zealand that have invested in the diagnostic systems we have. The assessment and treatment method of sports injuries are also applied to more common non athletic conditions. We usually aim to reduce pain by mechanically “reducing stress” to the injured tissues. This principle can be applied to any patient with any musculoskeletal condition. Our goal is to reduce and eliminate your pain in the shortest possible time frame whilst returning you to your pre-injured or pre-pain status. Our team of highly qualified podiatrists offer you the most up to date and unsurpassed care and treatment for your condition or injury. Visit our diagnostic equipment page for further information on our amazing analysis systems.
